Sarah holds a Bachelor of Health Promotion, a Graduate Diploma in Learning and Teaching, and a Master of Education, Guidance and Counselling. She is a Certified Facilitator of LEGO® Based Therapy and a certified trainer and assessor, bringing creative and evidence-based approaches to her counselling practice.
She has over 12 years of experience as a teacher and extensive experience in human services since 2008. Sarah is passionate about supporting mental health, fostering open communication, and creating a safe, inclusive, and confidential space where children, teens, adults, and parents feel heard, supported, and empowered. She is also a mum, which gives her a practical understanding of the challenges families face. Sarah has seen a wide range of behaviours and experiences, and tailors her approach to meet each client’s individual needs. She works from a private office to ensure sessions are professional, secure, and fully confidential.
Committed to ongoing professional growth, Sarah regularly engages in mandated professional supervision and professional development, with particular interests in play therapy, creative interventions, and evidence-informed strategies that support overall wellbeing. She is registered with the Queensland College of Teachers, the Queensland Guidance Counselling Association, and the Australian Counselling Association as a level 2 member, and is fully insured.
Sarah’s therapeutic approach is ethical, client-centred, creative, and mindful. She integrates techniques such as mindfulness, cognitive behavioural strategies, play-based interventions, organisational neuroscience approaches and LEGO ® Based Therapy to meet the unique needs of each client. She also takes a holistic view, recognising that mental health is connected to many aspects of daily life, and tailors her approach to each client’s needs.
